G-d Will Open Your Closed Doors And Deliver Your Gifts In Difficult Times - Encouragement.
What do you do when doors lock in your face?
What do you do when doors that were previously open abruptly close? What do you do when doors that are supposed to stay closed open?
What do you do when you are too weak to open closed doors?
What do you do when you are too tired to close open doors?
Open doors that have allowed in a barrage of issues and challenges that flood your life?
What do you do when your anxieties flare up?
And insecurities keep gnawing and eating at your soul?
What happens when you have no one to share all these things with?
And you feel alone because the door to everyone is shut?
These varied questions remind me of Mary and Joseph. Mary pregnant with a baby and traveling with Joseph to Bethlehem for the Census which had been decreed by Caesar August. She was probably in Labor with pains ripping through her body as she and Joseph moved through Bethlehem (The City of David) looking for a place to spend the night since there was no room in the inns for them. I can imagine that as they kept knocking at inn doors, the innkeepers kept saying, "No, sorry we are too full, we don't have any space left. We can't take any more people in, Go and look elsewhere." I wonder what Mary might have felt as she went inn to inn with Labor pains and all the exhaustion that comes with carrying a pregnancy to term while all the doors kept closing in her face.
Was she tempted to doubt the promises of G-d like many of us sometimes do? Did she wonder about the validity of what the Angel Gabriel had told her about the divinity of the child she was carrying? The Angel had told her some really amazing things:
The book of Luke gives us a lovely narrative
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Yeshua. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the L-rd G-d will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” he would be the savior of the world.
Luke 1:31-33
Yet on that special and starry night in Bethlehem there seemed to be no room for the Savior to be born. She must have felt like all the forces were against this miracle happening. She must have felt like her baby wouldn't have a decent place to be born. But glory to G-d, after much searching, weary and tired, they found a Manger.
Now back to our times:
Even if all the doors to the inns in your life are closed off I need you to know and understand that if you are of the Lord's, he has an adequate manger somewhere for you. A provision prepared specially for you so that you can give birth to your miracle. It may not be trendy. It may not be glamorous. It may not be luxurious. You might not see it now. You might not feel it now. You might not understand it now. But he has it already prepared and ready. Because he knows everything. He created everything. He is the way marker. He is the strong tower. He is the miracle worker.
But it will be exactly what you need to birth your miracle. And just like Mary, you will birth your miracle. The Bible doesn't say whether midwives helped Mary give birth or she did it on her own. However, in that manger, she brought forth her baby boy. Our Savior. Our King of Kings. Our Lord of Lords. The Messiah!
When he was just born, I wonder if he screamed hungrily and had to be fed immediately. I wonder if he cried a mighty cry. I wonder about many things but oh I'm glad she had a manger to push the baby. And in that Manger, many decades ago, after the savior of the world was born, the country shepherds came and paid tribute to the King of kings. They didn't find a baby dressed in expensive outfits. They found a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes.
"For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the L-rd. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”
Luke 2:11-12
After the shepherds had paid their tributes to the king and had gone around to spread the good news, in came the wise men from the east. During those times, there was no GPS, no Satellites or NASA and yet the wise men were able to find the baby. Well, just like the wise men were able to locate Mary, your own wise men that G-d has prepared to give you gifts will find you. It doesn't matter where in the world you are. It doesn't matter how deep the pit is. It doesn't matter how high the mountain is. It doesn't matter how dark the circumstance. It doesn't matter how complex the situation.
"When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. 11 And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.
Matthew 2:10-11
Your gifts from G-d will search for you and they will find you and your provisions will be delivered. G-d is not a man that he should lie. The word of the Lord is true.
“G-d is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
Numbers 23:19
And he is faithful even when we are not faithful. He is trustworthy and honorable. Let his name be praised forever more. Your gifts are coming. Your provisions are coming. It doesn't matter whether you are in a barn or manger. It doesn't matter if you are homeless with no roof over your head. It doesn't matter if you are on the street with nowhere to go. It doesn't matter where you are. G-d is going to deliver your gifts. G-d is sending his wise men and shepherds. HaShem, is sending exactly what you need. And he will add more to it. So hang tight! Hold on! Don't stop believing. Don't let your faith go.
