How To Restore Your Mind, Spirit, Soul, Body, Heart And Recover From Pain | Healing
Many people don't like talking about pain because there is a sort of shame and guilt that society often attaches to pain and suffering.
This therefore leads most people to burying their wounds and never fully recovering and experiencing restoration.
There are many types of wounds;
Wounds can be caused by a number of things like burns, falls, car accidents, animal bites, physical abuse etc.
The list above is filled with physical causes of wounds and pain. But what about other kinds of wounds and pain?
I hope you understand that human beings are not one dimensional.
We are made of five dimensions; Mind, Body, Soul, Heart and Spirit.
We are so intricately and magnificently created. The creator sure knew what he was doing when he was making man.
The scriptures testify thus:
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
Psalms 139:14
If you have a bodily or physical wound, you can go to a doctor and he fixes you.
But what about the kind of pain and wounds we can't see?
But what about the kind of pain and wounds we can't see?
Wounds buried in our souls, hearts, minds and spirit?
Let us take an example of soul wounds.
Because it's difficult to see a soul, some people ignore soul wounds but the more these kinds of hurts are ignored, the deeper they grow and fester.
Sometimes, they grow so deep, we forget who we are.
They become so intense until we are shadows of ourselves.
They grow so deep, we fail to find a cure and in turn seek out destructive and temporary escapes.
Some try to find a cure in drugs and pills. Others try sex and comfort in the bodies of others.
Some try to drown the pain in a bottle or a hobby. But after awhile, and after much trying, they feel emptier and worse than when they started.
The above fixes don't heal soul wounds. If you try any of the above, the pain will keep tormenting you through flash blacks and memories.
You will never find a cure in drugs, pills, sex, alcohol, hobbies or video games.
A number of things can cause our pains:
The list may go something like:
Hurt and disappointment by friends, family or just the world.
or
Betrayal by loved ones.
or
Domestic abuse and violence.
or
Sexual abuse.
or
Loss of loved ones
And
The list goes on and on.
After awhile, pure souls can become dark and scary places. And dark souls can lead to hard and bitter hearts.
But thank G-d for a cure. Yes! There is but one cure for soul wounds.
LOVE is that balm and cure.
Love heals and restores. It is able to lead to recovery and redemption.
G-d's love is the ultimate antidote and human love is second to that.
As you go out today, please love a soul. It could be a smile, a hug, a kiss, a kind word, a wave of the hand.
Whatever little you can do, please do. You just don't know whose medicine and balm you might be.
The sages have said that words have the power to convey love and provide therapy.
Poetry is one of those ways we can creatively share love.
Poem: Wounds!
Deep gashes and slashes
Wounds that live in the soul
Some leave scars
But some keep bleeding
You can see and feel them
Wounds that live in the soul
Some leave scars
But some keep bleeding
You can see and feel them
In angry words
In rude faces
In unkind acts.
Wounds!
They can be healed
Love heals
Love washes scars away
In rude faces
In unkind acts.
Wounds!
They can be healed
Love heals
Love washes scars away
